Research interests: Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Social Network Analysis, Youth Employability, Cyber Security.

In my research, I use artificial intelligence and data science techniques to address problems with strong societal impact. I have used that approach to study youth employability and cyber security . My work is funded by the United States Agency of International Development (USAID) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). I believe in working closely with stakeholders and end-users when developing algorithms and technology that have real world impact. My work has already resulted in improvement of our university's curricula and is often cited by the Secretary of state of Investment.

I was a visiting faculty at the University of Maryland at College Park during Summer 2017 and was selected as a Rising Star by MIT’s Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department in November 2015. I received a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering and Computation, Organizations and Society (now Societal Computing) from Carnegie Mellon University in May 2015. At CMU, I was part of the Center for Computational Analysis of Social and Organizational Systems (CASOS), working with Kathleen Carley. I received a Master and a Bachelor in Communication Systems from Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in 2008 and 2006 respectively.
